About the Journal

k@ta: a biannual publication on the study of language and literature (p-ISSN 1411-2639 | e-ISSN 2302-6294) is a refereed journal published twice a year in June and December by the English Department, Faculty of Humanities & Creative Industries, Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia. It presents articles on the study of language, literature, and culture. Papers can be submitted for consideration throughout the year.

k@ta journal was first published in 1999 and was nationally accredited in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2016, 2020, and 2025. It is currently accredited at SINTA 1 level based on the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026, dated 2 January 2026. This status is valid for issues from Volume 26, Number 2 (2024) to Volume 31, Number 1 (2029).

The online version with DOI number for each article is now available at https://kata.petra.ac.id and it can also be accessed from ProQuest e-journal (http://www.proquest.com). k@ta has also been covered by Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), EBSCO, Index Copernicus, ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), BASE, Worldcat, Dimensions, Mendeley, CrossRef, Google Scholar, Asian Science Citation Index (ASCI), ROAD, Garuda, and Modern Language Association (MLA).
